After School
Designed for children in the elementary grades including our Kindergartners, our Afterschool program is friendly, inviting and child-centered.
We provide transportation from the local schools by Center van and contracted service. Upon arrival in the afternoon, children are offered healthy snacks and a meeting time. Our teachers respect the power of play and foster the development of children through a carefully planned, flexible program.
Our children may choose to participate in a variety of activities including cooking, arts and crafts, games, sports, homework and field trips. Throughout the year clubs are formed to explore a topic in depth for a specified number of weeks. Enrichment activities include working with computers, photography, the environment and community service. Staff design enriched learning environments where children are encouraged to contribute to
the formation of rules and are empowered to express their ideas while learning to respect the contributions of others.
NCC Afterschool is open on no-school days, early release days and delayed openings. During school vacations and on early release days special plans are made including field trips, special lunches and full day projects.
