I am so happy to have landed back where all my first memories of child care are – here at NCC! I joined NCC as an infant and created lasting friendships my peers and memories of adventure and fun throughout the years. I attended Colby-Sawyer College and in 2009, graduated with degrees in childhood development and psychology, where I was able to visit many childhood development centers through many practicums.  After graduation, I moved to Port Townsend, Washington where I helped run a local community pool and taught children swimming.  When I arrived back in Needham, I jumped at the chance to go back to NCC but this time as a teacher not a student! I absolutely love being a part of the team which provides such a phenomenal community to all the families in our care. I get giddy with excitement when children move through the programs and have such fantastic experiences that I had not that long ago.  Now I have the pleasure of sharing this amazing learning space with my own family! I have two boys. It has been so wonderful seeing school through their eyes and sharing all of these memories with them!

Needham Children’s Center has been my second home for as long as I can remember. I was one of the first students to walk through its doors in 1980.  As soon as I turned 15,  I was doing my community service hours here, working afterschool, and continued to work here through my college years.
I am a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College with a degree in Psychology, focusing on young children and families.  After college, I worked for Boston Sports Club and Bosse Sports developing and initiating youth programs and establishing their early childhood room.  As a member of the NCC team, I enjoy my classroom time in infants and as a member of the administration.  This fall I will be overseeing the Afterschool Program as well. My husband and I enjoy watching our two children grow and learn within the NCC community.

Needham Children’s Center has been my professional home and second home to my family since 1980. Starting as a preschool teacher new to the field, I continued my education earning a Masters in child development from Wheelock College. My 30 plus years at NCC have been equally divided between classroom teaching and administration. Working with children and families has been an extremely rewarding career. My husband and I have lived in Needham since 1972 raising our children and actively participating in the Needham Early Chidhood Council, Needham youth sports and St. Joseph’s Parish.

I was born and raised in Needham and Needham is still my home. I began my Teaching/Directing career at Needham Children’s Center in September of 1982. The field of Early Care and Education is a passion of mine. Over the years I have continued my education with classes at Wheelock College and training’s through many professional Early Childhood organizations. I am a member of the National Association of Education of Young Children and BAEYC which is an affiliate. I served as the Chair Person of the Needham Early Childhood Council for 8 years and still am member today. I am currently a member of the Needham Business Association, Needham High School Distinguished Award Community and a past active member of the Needham Suicide Prevention Committee. I am a Board member of the Needham Community Council which is a non profit organization which helps many individuals and families in need. Over the years I have seen many changes in the field of Early Childhood and I am happy to be growing with them.

Executive Director

Needham Children’s Center, Inc opened its doors in September 1980 and I was there to greet each of the 20 preschoolers and 4 toddlers. As one of the school’s original Lead Teachers and it’s executive director for over 33 years, I have to say, “I still love my job”! Working directly with our families, our warm and caring staff and this wonderful community continues to be rewarding. Our NCC family has expanded considerably and the NCC (Needham Children’s Center, Inc) community; staff and administration and families can be proud of our many accomplishments. Our program is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, all our staff meet or exceed the staff qualifications for the state, we all love working with children and we create a curriculum and plan each day with them in mind. Part of my job is to keep up with the times, acknowledge change whether it be a new regulation or technology and implement what is in the best interest of the children. Over the years, when there have been challenging times for families, we have brought the NCC community together to see what part we can play in keeping children safe, happy and children first! I received my Masters in Early Childhood from Wheelock College and worked with them on several initiatives over the years; seat belt legislation, young children and technology, Children’s Defense Fund, Child Care Staffing Study, and coordinating afterschool training for students throughout the country from the Center for Career Development at Wheelock. Currently, I sit on the Board of the Community Center of Needham where we hope to help build a new community pool.
