NCC Staff takes on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

On Thursday, August 21st, many of the staff and administrators of Needham Children’s Center participated in the ALS Ice Bucked Challenge to raise money and awareness for ALS.   Many of the excited summer camp children watched and even helped with the challenge.  After the activities, sugar-free ice pops were enjoyed by all.  NCC donated $25 for each staff member who participated.

ALS or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects motor neurons and nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. When motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to control muscle movement is lost. This progressive degeneration of the motor neurons is eventually fatal.
